According to a study recently published by BNP Paribas Center Studies, the positive balance of manufacturing confirmed its important role for the external accounts of Italy. In 2009 while accusing a decline of 15 billion compared to 2008, the surplus in the sector has provided the resources nedeed to counteract the energy deficit. Within the 48 billion of surplus achieved, more than 36 come from manufacturing of machineries.
Encouraging signs arrive from the dynamics of bank loans to the segment of "family business" (small companies employing up to 5 people) that in Italy in February 2010 have marked an increase of 1,2% on annual basis.
